On 23 October 2022, in Kone Thar village (Loikaw township, Loikaw district, Kayah state), the Moe Bye based military IB 422 fired heavy artillery and the shells exploded on a tent where a family of three were taking shelter at 9 pm, killing a 35-year-old father on the spot and seriously injuring mother and their 8-year-old son. The woman died from her injuries at about 5 pm on 24 October. Fatalities coded as 2.
