On 23 October 2022, in Sin Kon Taing village (Katha township, Katha district, Sagaing region), around seven military supply naval ships traveling along the Irrawaddy River fired heavy weapons indiscriminately at around 9 am and the shells landed in the village, killing a 12-year-old girl and injuring another girl.
