QALAT, Afghanistan, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Four Afghans including three children were injured as an explosive device exploded in Afghanistan's southern Zabul province on Saturday, said a statement of the Provincial Directorate for Information and Culture released here Sunday. The gruesome incident took place in Kakarano Chini area outside provincial capital Qalat on Saturday evening when the children found an unexploded ordnance and played with it, but the device exploded suddenly, injuring the three children and a woman, the statement added. One of the wounded children was in critical condition and had been taken to a main hospital in the neighboring Kandahar for medical treatment, the statement further said. A similar incident injured seven children in Nahrin district of the northern Baghlan province on Friday. Afghanistan reportedly is the most mine-contaminated country in the world as landmines and unexploded ordnances have killed and maimed more than 100 people, mostly children, in the war-torn country, according to officials
