On 8 October 2022, AQAP militants targeted with an IED the convoy of the STC 1st Support and Reinforcement Brigade's commander at the eastern entrance of Al Mahfad district (coded to district level at Al Mahfid) (Abyan). There were no fatalities nor injuries.
