On 8 October 2022, a TTP commander, his driver and 2 of his bodyguards were injured, and a passer-by civilian was killed in a mine explosion targeting the vehicle of the commander in the Shigal (Shaigal Aw Shiltan) district, Kunar. Another source claimed the incident took place in Marawara district. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
