Exclusion zone set up within a radius of 500 metres About 3,800 people are affected Evacuations are necessary Police recommend avoiding the area as far as possible During excavation work today, Wednesday afternoon, 12 October, another 250-kilogram aerial bomb was found in Werner-von-Siemens-Straße (Toni Park) in Hochfeld. It is the second find within six weeks. For the bomb disposal, which will take place today, an exclusion zone will be set up within a radius of 500 metres of the site. It will affect about 3,800 people. Evacuations are necessary. Traffic impact The police recommend that people avoid the area as far as possible. Public transport (lines 2 and 3 as well as bus lines) will continue to operate until the evacuation. From the time of the evacuation, however, there will be no more stops at the bus stops within the exclusion zone. In good time before the bomb is defused, public transport and motorised private transport will then be completely stopped. University canteen for evacuees Evacuees can use the university refectory as a temporary place to stay. Corona-positive persons can find shelter in the building opposite the university refectory.
