On 4 October 2022, an IS explosive remnant of war detonated injuring a fighter from the 51st Brigade (Salah al-Din Brigade) of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Baiji district, Salah Al Din. The fighter died from the injuries sustaiained on 6 October and the Popular Mobilization Authority classified the fatality as a combat fatality.
