UAV event in Crimea, Kerchenskyi area, Ukraine on Sat 8th October 2022
8th October 2022
On 8 October 2022, an explosion, likely orchestrated by the Ukrainian security service, took place on the bridge near Kerch, Crimea, which connects Russia to the occupied Crimean peninsula and is used by Russian forces for the re-supply of troops in southern Ukraine. Russia claims that a bomb that caused the explosion was loaded onto a truck. Some independent investigators claim that the truck did not cause the explosion and suggest the involvement of an air or maritime drone or explosives attached to the bottom of the bridge. The explosion led to a partial collapse of the road bridge and damage to the railway. Four Russian civilians were killed.
