13th September 2022
Authorities to dispose of three unexploded WWII bombs in Dortmund, Germany, from 16:30 Sept. 13. Localized transport disruptions likely. Authorities in Dortmund plan to dispose of three WWII-era bombs on Sept. 13. The devices were found in Beylingstrasse in the Kirchderne area of the city during construction work. Officials have implemented a 250-meter (820-foot) exclusion zone around the affected site to facilitate disposal operations. International highspeed Intercity Express (ICE) trains between Dortmund-Derne Station and Enschede, Netherlands, will be disrupted for the duration of the disposal operation. Precautionary measures will include several road closures and the evacuation of all buildings within the exclusion. The rail line closure will probably also impact regional services. Advice Avoid the affected area until authorities give the all-clear. Check public transport schedules and local traffic conditions for disruptions before beginning journeys; make alternative travel arrangements in advance if necessary.
