Unknown event in Chhattisgar, Jabrametta under Katekalyan Police Station limits in Dantewada District area, India on Mon 25th July 2022

A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre wanted in 19 criminal cases and carrying a bounty of INR 500,000 was gunned down by Police in an encounter in a forest area surrounding Jabrametta under Katekalyan Police Station limits in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh on the intervening night of July 25-26 (today), reports Devdiscourse. During a search of the area, the security personnel recovered the body of a slain Maoist, identified as Budhram Markam, a member of the Katekalyan Area Committee of the outlawed movement, an official said. As many as 19 cases were registered against Markam and he was carrying a cash reward of INR 500,000 on his head, the official added.
