On 17 July 2022, in Kawng Waing village of Namhkan township (Muse district, Shan-North state), the Myanmar military troops fired heavy weapons at Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) positions in the village. The military's artillery shell landed in a school and destroyed the building.
