On 18 July 2022, near Myawaddy village (coded as Myawaddy (NaTaLa) (Maungdaw township, Maungdaw district, Rakhine state), the AA carried out mine attacks against a military vehicle carrying the border guard police and military reinforcements coming to support their troops who were fighting with the AA between Ta Rein and Zee Pin Chaung villages. At least ten military soldiers including a border guard officer were killed and 14 others including a battalion commander were detained. The vehicle was damaged.
