On 18 July 2022, overnight, suspected Al Shabaab militants threw a hand grenade against the residential house of the Deputy Speaker of Jubaland Local Parliament at the Via-Afmadow neighborhood of Kismayo town (Kismaayo, Lower Juba). There were no fatalities. Two people were injured.
