On 19 July 2022, near Ka Mar Saing village of Thaton township (Thaton district, Mon state), the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People's Defense Force (PDF-NUG) carried out mine attacks twice against heavy military's truck and a vehicle near Ka Mar Saing at around 8:41 pm and 8:49 pm. Thirteen military soldiers died and five others were injured.
