On 20 July 2022, in Pang Kay Tu village tract (Mongkaing township, Loilen district, Shan-South), a man stepped on a landmine while he was looking for buffaloes near Mauk Hlaing village at around 4 pm. He sustained critical injuries on his legs, hands and chest and was taken to the Mongkaing hospital. He was then transferred to the Loilen hospital because of the severity of the injuries.
