An official of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was killed while another one injured when terrorists attacked a checkpoint in Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the night of June 30, reports Dawn. One of the attackers, later identified as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant Bilal, was killed and another was injured in the encounter. Azam Warsak Police Station House Officer (SHO) Zabihullah said that a search party of Police had set up a checkpoint. When Inspector Moosa Sulemankhel signalled two gunmen riding motorcycles to stop, one of them opened fire, killing the inspector on the spot. The other attacker threw a hand-grenade leaving Constable Rasool Jan injured. The Police returned fire, killing the TTP terrorist and injuring his accomplice who managed to flee.
