In an exchange of fire between the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres of the Katekalyan Area Committee (KAC) of the CPI-Maoist and the District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel, one Maoist was killed in a forest near Nedanar village in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh on June 30, reports The Hindu. The slain Maoist, identified as Denga Deva alias Mahangu Deva, an area Committee member of KAC, carrying a bounty of INR 500,000 on his head, said Inspector General of Police- Bastar (IGP-Bastar) Sundarraj P.
