On 30 June 2022, in Hpa-An town of Hpa-An township (Hpa-An district, Kayin state), two young civilians (ages 17 and 18) were killed from a landmine explosion on War Bo Taw street at around 7 am. Locals said the landmie was planted by the military and BGF.
