On 6 July 2022, Nigerian Air Force fighter jets carried out an air strike targeted at a Katsina militia in Abdulkareem camp near Mahuta village, coded to Guzurawa (Safana, Katsina). 18 from the militia were killed, as claimed by the Nigerian Air Force.
