On 5 July 2022, in Myitkyina town (Myitkyina township, Myitkyina district, Kachin state), an unidentified armed group carried out a mine attack against a military vehicle with soldiers in front of the Bureau of Special Investigation office in Aye Mya Thar Yar ward at around 8 pm. Some nearby houses were hit by mine pieces and two civilians were injured. No group claimed responsibility.
