On 4 July 2022, in Ovejas (Sucre), two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle threw a grenade at a police checkpoint in La Bomba neighborhood. Three police officers were injured and a civilian who was nearby died. It is suspected that the attack was carried out by Gulf Clan members. There have been a series of attacks committed against police officers in the last weeks in the department. 1 fatality.
