On 4 July 2022, PKK-YJA STAR militants carried out several remote explosive attacks targeting Turkish army soldiers in Sehid Umid area (Kurdish name) in Zap region (Al Amadiya district) of Duhok, in conjunction with Turkish army shelling. HPG (PKK) claimed that Turkish forces used explosives and bombs containing poisonous gas during the shelling but this was not confirmed by other sources. 2 Turkish soldiers were injured in the attacks.
