On 2 July 2022, in Sawntaung and Chat villages of Mindat township (Mindat district, Chin state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes with two helicopters against civilians in Chat and Sawntaung villages when there was no armed clash. Three Mindat CDF soldiers who went to the villages to evacuate the villagers were killed by airstrikes.
