On 21 July 2022, in Thaton town (Thaton township, Thaton district, Mon state), a mine planted by two unidentified armed men exploded at a ward administration office in Auk Kyin ward at around 9:30 am. The west part of the office was damaged, but there were no casualties. No group claimed responsibility.
