The Danish Deming Group (DDG) has cleared an area of the Dasht-e Barchi Hospital of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in order to enable construction on the land and the rehabilitation of the maternity ward. Fears of UXO in the area had stalled construction efforts. Since clearance, construction of the hospital has been able to continue and the rehabilitated maternity ward is now completed.
