On 16 June 2022, in Suarez (Cauca), suspected members of a FARC dissident faction activated a motorcycle bomb near the police station. The blast injured an officer and damaged the facilities. Authorities believe the incident was a retaliation due to the death of a high-ranked commander during a clash with security forces on the weekend of 11 June (coded separately). While some source claimed the attack was perpetrated by the Dagoberto Ramos FARC dissident faction, other claimed the perpetrator was the Jaime Martinez dissidence. There were no fatalities.
