On Wednesday 18 May, two shells were discovered in the Pays de Caux. The first was discovered at around 10am by workers during a clearing operation in the logistics park of the Normandy bridge. The explosive device was 50 centimetres long and 10 in diameter. The second, measuring 40 centimetres long and 10 centimetres in diameter, was found at around 5pm in Veules-les-Roses by a man walking on the beach.
