On 4 June 2022, PKK militants attacked Turkish soldiers via heavy guns (presumably referring to rocket or artillery weapons) in Gire Koordine area (Kurdish name) in the Xakurke (Wadi Khakurik) region of Erbil. HPG (PKK) claimed 2 Turkish soldiers were killed and 2 others were injured in the attack.
