Five cadres of the Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC/TPC), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), were arrested along with loaded pistols and country made revolvers from a forest under the Basal outpost Police Station limits in Ramgarh District of Jharkhand on May 20, reports The Times of India. Ramgarh, Superintendent of Police (SP), Prabhat Kumar said, “The arrested TSPC operatives attacked the site of an under-construction bridge on Simara River in Lem village under Basal police outpost limits on the night of May 12 this year and beat up the workers, set construction equipment ablaze and fired in the air to terrorise the construction company and extort money.” An FIR was lodged under various sections of the IPC a day later in connection with the crime. Those arrested are identified as Sunil Munda, Abhishek Singh alias Tolu, Vicky Munda alias Bhagat, Abhishek Karmali alias Karu and Rahul Munda, all in the age group of 20 to 25 years. “We seized a loaded pistol, a country made revolver with cartridges, mobile phones and a motorcycle from their possession,” the SP added.
