On 17 May 2022, in the rural area of Vistahermosa municipality (Meta), an unidentified armed group set off an explosive device near a military patrol that was carrying out a mine clearance operation. The blast resulted in 14 military soldiers injured. The area is known for the presence of FARC dissident, ELN, among other groups. There were no fatalities.
