On 19 May 2022, 3-5 people were wounded in a landmine explosion that targeted a vehicle of 209th Shaheen corps workers in PD5 area of Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh. Some sources claimed the victims were security members while some other sources claimed the victims in the vehicle were civilians. IS later claimed the attack and said 10 Taliban members were killed and wounded. Afghanistan Liberation movement also claimed responsbility for the attack and said 10 Taliban members were killed and 12 injured.
