Security Forces (SFs) on May 13 killed two freshly infiltrated militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) during an operation at Brar Aragam area of Bandipora District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) who were involved in the killing of Kashmir Pandit employee Rahul Bhat in Budgam on May 12, reports Daily Excelsior. The slain militants were identified as Faisal alias Sikander alias Mohsin alias Ukasha, resident of Pakistan. A Police spokesman said that SFs neutralized two recently infiltrated foreign militants of LeT in an operation at Brar Aragam area. “The duo had escaped from recent operation at Salender forest area of Bandipora,” Police spokesman added. The spokesman said that they were tracking a local LeT militant Lateef Rather alias Osama who was involved in militant attacks in Srinagar and Budgam for the last two months. “A week ago, the movement of Lateef Rather was confirmed in Salindar area of Bandipora where he had gone to receive a fresh infiltrated group of militants of LeT outfit”, the spokesman added. While as the other two militants managed to escape from the said encounter site, police said a team kept following their footprints, whose presence was confirmed technically in Chadoora area of Budgam, where Kashmir Pandit employee Rahul Bhat was killed.|Meanwhile, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel deployed along the International Border (IB) in R S Pura sector of Jammu District fired several rounds at a drone coming from the Pakistani side in the morning of May 14 (today), forcing it to retreat, reports Daily Excelsior. A massive search operation was launched in the area to ensure no weapons or narcotics were dropped by the flying object, an official said. “Today in the morning, alert BSF troops observed a blinking light (in the sky) and immediately fired at it in the Arnia area, forcing the Pakistani flying object to return. A combined search operation is being carried out in the area,” BSF Deputy Inspector General, Jammu frontier, S P Sandhu said.|Separately, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) on May 13 conducted raids at 10 locations across Jammu region in connection with hawala racket originating from Pakistan and involving among others former Minister Babu Singh. Raids were carried out at four locations each in Jammu and Kathua Districts and two in Doda District. An SIA team raided the residence of Mohammad Hussain Khateeb, son of Abdul Khateeb at Masjid Mohalla in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda District who is engineering militancy and hawala operations of Hizbul Mujahideen from Pakistan.
