A civilian was killed and two others, including a soldier, were injured during a gunfight in Pandoshan area of Shopian District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on May 9, reports Greater Kashmir. The civilian killed was identified as Shahid Gani Dar, son of Abdul Gani Dar, a resident of Pandoshan area of Shopian. The injured civilian was identified as Shoaib Ahmad Mantoo. The solider was identified as Sanjeev Das. The encounter was called off after the terrorist managed to escape after breaking the cordon.
