On 5 May 2022, near Tha Yet Pin Chaung village (Mawlaik township, Mawlaik district, Sagaing region), the Mawlaik PDF attacked 21 Myanmar military soldiers, who were patrolling with motorcycles, with landmines in the afternoon. There were 8 fatalities and 1 injury from the military side.
