On 2 May 2022, PKK-YJA STAR militants carried out an attack via heavy guns (presumably referring to rocket or artillery weapons) targeting Turkish forces in Gire Sehid Axin area (Kurdish name) in Xakurke (Wadi Khakurik) region of Erbil province. HPG (PKK) claimed one Turkish soldier was killed in the attack.
