On 3 May 2022, near Ma Sut Yang village (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), the Myanmar military based in the village prison fired artillery shells and killed two civilians; a restaurant owner and a customer, at around 8 pm as the shell hit the restaurant in Hmaw Pon village a mile away.
