On 16 April 2022, in Chaung Gyi village (Thabeikkyin township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), the Wild Elephant Guerrilla Forces (Thabeikkyin) and its battalion 2, named Bo Tayza (02) (Thabeikkyin), attacked the Chaung Gyi police station with remote-controlled explosives at around 3:28 pm, killing two soldiers. Three others - a captain, a police head and the village administrator - were injured.
