On April 21, eight persons were killed in an armed clash between fighters affiliated with, the former governor of Balkh, Atta Mohammad Noor, and the Taliban in the Police District (PD) 4 of Mazar-e-Sharif city, the provincial capital of Balkh Province, reports Hasth-e-Subh. Seven Taliban fighters including the district commander andtwo fighters of Atta Mohammad Noor’s nephew Suhail Zemarai were killed in the incident.
