For this purpose, an area within a two-kilometer radius is cordoned off. In the restricted area there are two nursing homes, the Lessing elementary school, the "Unteres Geiseltal" secondary school as well as four daycare centers and the communal accommodation in Krumpa. The authorities are currently working on an evacuation plan. Leuna target of allied bombers The area around Leuna was an important target for Allied bombers during the Second World War.
