On November 16, a drug smuggler identified as Saddam Hussain was injured in Police firing while trying to escape from Police custody in Bokajan of Karbi Anglong District in Assam, reports Northeast Now. Saddam was arrested along with Bimol Tassa from Bokajan and 150 soapboxes containing 1.77-kilogram heroin worth INR 120 million was recovered. During their journey towards Police Station, while Saddam tried to escape by pushing police personnel, he was shot in his right leg. His condition is stated to be stable now.
