On 9 November 2021, a remote explosive of unknown origin targeted the car of two married journalists in Aden - Khur Maksar Corniche (Khur Maksar) killing 1 and injuring 1 other. The deceased -- Rashah Abdullah -- worked for Aden-based Ash Sharq channel and her husband -- Mahmud al Atmi -- worked for Emirati channel Al Ain. Sources suggest that Houthi forces could be behind the incident since they have sent threats to Mahmoud and have been collecting information on the couple.
