On 2 January 2022, in Monywa township (Monywa district, Sagaing region) joint forces of eight local defense forces destroyed military-owned MyTel telecom towers in five villages, including Hta Naung Taw, Taw Pu, Pauk Pin, and Kya Paing. The groups are: BWDF: Black Wolf Defense Force, Monwya Lightning PDF, CHU LDF: Chaung U Local Defense Force, CRA: Chaung U Revolution Army, FRF CHU: Farmers Revolution Force CHU, MUR: Monywa Underground Revolution, BE PDF: Black Eagle People's Defense Force and Monywa PDF.
