On 3 January 2022, in Nyaung Pin Gyi Taw village (Wetlet township, Shwebo district, Sagaing region), the military's four MI-35 helicopters fired on the village, forcing locals to flee. After that, the military left about 50 military troops inside the village, surrounding the village monastery. Casualties unknown.
