On 3 January 2022, in Shwebo township (Shwebo district, Sagaing region), the military reported that two unidentified men on a motorcycle entered the compound of Shwebo District Education Office and the Basic Education High School No. 2 and hurled two hand grenades and opened fire. Nine windows of the education office were shattered. There were no casualties.
