On 5 January 2022, a drone by Global Coalition Forces targeted pro-Iran militias positions in Huweqa, Husainia and Al-Bogeleyyah neighborhoods in Deir-ez-Zor city, injuring an unknown number of pro-Iran militias. There were no fatalities.
