On 21 May 2019, in Kyauktaw Township, in Rakhine State, two men from Nga Pyaw Chaung village were injured as they stepped on the landmine on their way back home from collecting timber at a mountain to the west of the village. There were clashes happened between the Arakan Army and the Myanmar military in that area in the last two months.
