On 15 December 2021, a remote controlled IED by Al Shabaab militants detonated at the residence of a civilian and destroyed part of the house at Suq Kalkaal vicinity section of Gulwade village neighborhood in Kismayo town (Kismaayo, Lower Juba) after the Al Shabaab court in Jilib ordered the owner to stop building but he refused. There were no casualties.
