Rocket event in Kunar, Shigal area, Afghanistan on Thu 16th December 2021

On 16 December 2021, a drone fired a missile at a guesthouse hosting a senior member of the of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in Chogam area of Sheltan (Shigal) district [coded to Shaigal Aw Shiltan with GP2] of Kunar. There were no casualties as it hit the house when guests were away. Some sources claimed that the drone was launched by the US and Pakistan but not confirmed. There are also claims that the drone was fired after 4 Pakistani military forces were killed in a clash (unknown date) at the border between Pakistanis military forces and TTP militants while TTP militants were crossing the border to Afghanistan. Claims included that the Taliban officials in Kunar confirmed the drone strike while Taliban spokesman refuted it, saying that Pakistan fired rockets to Kunar province.
