Meanwhile, Police recovered two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) suspected to have been planted by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), from separate locations in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on December 25, reports The New Indian Express. Superintendent of Police (SP), Girija Shankar Jaiswal said, following the seizure on December 25, the explosives were safely defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS). The Maoists had planted the IEDs to target security personnel engaged in anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operations in the district, he said, adding that the explosives were recovered from different locations under Dhanora Police Station limits during demining exercises.
