Four militants including an Improvised explosive Device (IED) expert of Ansar-ul-Gazwat-ul-Hind (AuGH) were killed in two separate encounters in Shopian and Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on December 25, while a third gun battle has raged in the evening in Anantnag District, reports Daily Excelsior. According to Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), the militants killed in Shopian District belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and have been identified as Sajad Ahmad Chak, resident of Braripora in Shopian and Raja Basit Yaqoob, resident of Achan Litter in Pulwama. A Police official said, “According to police records, both the terrorists were linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT and were part of groups involved in several terror cases. Chak was also instrumental in motivating and recruiting the youth in the terrorist group.” The Police added that incriminating materials, and arms and ammunition – including two AK series rifles, four AK magazines and 32 rounds – were recovered from the two slain militants.
